A thriving practice based in Islington, London is seeking to expand their Emloyment department with the appointment of a new Associate/Senior Associate

The Department
Our Employment department already has a great reputation and as a result undertaks a wide spectrum of work from owner managed businesses to large organisations and Blue-Chip companies. The department as well as the firm has a reputation of being extremely client focused and approachable; always delivering practical legal solutions on time and on budget.

The Role
You will be responsible for a caseload of non-contentious and contentious work dealing with complex and challenging issues for a variety of our clients.

The majority of the work is Respondent based and you will be advising on policies, contracts of employment, TUPE (outsourcing and in sourcing), due diligence, all types of compromise agreements, tribunal work and exit packages. You will also be required to advise on all other Employment issues.

Experience or an interest in developing a Business Immigration client base would be desirable.

The Person
You will have between 7-10 PQE and possess a good and solid academic record. You must demonstrate relevant experience within employment law working without supervision as well as possessing excellent drafting skills, legal analysis, verbal and written communication skills and in-depth legal knowledge. It is also important that candidates demonstrate good commercial awareness and are able to focus on generating commercially viable practical solutions for clients.

A client following is not essential, however would be an advantage.

Candidates will be encourages to develop external relationships, which have the potential of leading to work for the department or firm. As such you will be involved in business development and marketing strategy, assisting in taking the business forward. Candidates will also be expected to contribute to various publications the firm produces as well as writing for external journals and speaking at seminars.
