With more than 1,300 stores globally, Specsavers is one of the largest and most successful optical retailers in the world. Having enjoyed remarkable expansion in the last decade, the company continues that expansion even in the current market.
The company’s global Legal Department handles all aspects of legal and regulatory requirements as well as contractual issues across the Group’s markets. The company is now looking to appoint an Employment Counsel to manage employment matters globally for the business, both contentious and non-contentious. The structure of the Group means this role is very hands-on – you will work closely with the Board, senior managers and other stakeholders to continue to support both the day-to-day activities of this business as well as its ongoing global expansion.
To be part of the Specsavers team, experience working with a multi-national organisation is essential, as is the ability to work at a global level and advise on issues that may arise in various international markets. In-house experience is also highly regarded – the success of Specsavers stems from its commerciality and its proven ability to identify and adapt to market trends and this needs to be carried through by the legal department. Extensive experience in contentious, non-contentious, transactional and advisory employment law matters is pivotal to the level of responsibility you will take on in this position.
